Emerson UPS System Positioned for Installation
Date: 05/19/2008
Due to the weight of the Emerson UPS systems, because every cabinet has batteries for emergency backup power, a steel foundation is installed on the raised, reinforced flooring first. Each cabinet is carefully hoisted and then set into position. Only after all the cabinets are connected together and anchored, is the immense task of wiring begun. This job took over four months to complete.

Transformer Installed Suite 1215
Date: 06/18/2008
We can't quite figure out why we had to install this, but we paid big bucks for after being told it was a must have. Besides, we thing our competitors might have one so we didn't want to be left out. We were told not to touch it once it is powered up. If you know what it is, please email us and we'll send you a new Sirius Telecom coffee cup, which is brand new, just like this thing.

Diesel Fuel Room For Sirius Telecom Generator
Date: 06/19/2008
After the tragedy of 9/11, severe limitations on fuel storage above the ground floor were enacted for all buildings in New York City. The result is that many legacy generators for telecom sites only have limited operating backup time due to the constraints of fuel. Hand carrying fuel to resupply a generator in a power outage or other emergency is typically not practical due to weight constraints and the number of floors required to be climbed via stairs. The Sirius solution was to locate the generator and a separate fuel facility which could be resupplied at ground level.

Although we installed a pre-action fire suppression system which is also tied into the 60 Hudson fire life safety system, we couldn't resist the hardware salesman downstairs who told us we could be our own one-man fire department with the nifty apparatus. Although tempted to test it on each other during late nights of construction, we resisted and this excellent fire-fighting tool diligently ready to come to the rescue.
